Seventh-day Adventists Join in Ecumenical Singing, worship

This news comes to us from a May 25, 2014 NewsRoomPanama.com article entitled “Multi-faith Choir Concert.” The article describes how different denominations participated in and ecumenical celebration commemorating the first year anniversary since the opening of a new age, eastern philosophical Baha’i temple.

Seventh-day Adventists, Catholics, Mormons, Baha'i, and other religious faiths came together to show peace, unity, and solidarity during a Sunday worship service at a Baha'i temple. The religion of Baha’i teaches that all major religions, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and Hinduism—all come from the same God and all communicate God’s will for man. According to Baha’i doctrine, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, Dharma, Krishna, and Buddha are all messenger from God and form part of a single, progressive process through which God reveals His will to humanity.

The servant of the Lord has warned us about these relationships. There has to be a line of distinction between the commandments of God and the commandments of men, and between those who serve Him and those who serve Him not. We cannot afford to place ourselves in a position where we will be tempted to assimilate ourselves with the spirit and customs of the world.

“It was by associating with idolaters and joining in their festivities that the Hebrews were led to transgress God’s law and bring His judgments upon the nation. So now it is by leading the followers of Christ to associate with the ungodly and unite in their amusements that Satan is most successful in alluring them into sin.” Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 458.

It has been Satan’s plan to destroy the faith of Jesus, the three angels’ messages, and our distinctive truths through the ecumenical movement. He has been successful in causing many to lose sight of God’s present truth. Nonetheless, the Lord is taking back the reins of the work into His own hands. He will empower His people to present His message boldly without hesitation. The original, authentic, historical Seventh-day Adventist witness will soon sweep across this world, and men will be powerless to hold it back. May God help us to stand firmly on the side of truth and to be a witness of the truth to all men.
