Obama: We Are Living in the Most Peaceful Era in Human History
Editorial
During his trip to Germany, President Barack Obama stated that the world which we are now living in is the "most peaceful era" in human history. Yet the prophecies found in the Holy Scriptures tell us that the exact opposite is happening. Bible prophecy provides to us the framework by which the end-times will unfold.
"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come." 2 Timonthy 3:1.
"How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts." Jude 1:18.
"And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold." Revelation 24:12.
These statements describe exactly what is happening today. Out world is not getting better. Out nation has a $19 trillion dollar debt that is growing, natural and man made disasters are becoming more intense and more frequent, terror is engulfing our world and new diseases are plaguing the inhabitants of our world. These are the conditions that will exist just before the second coming of our Lord and Savior.
Some may wonder what world is President Obama living in. He seems to be out of touch with reality. Actually, his statements are also a fulfillment of Bible prophecy.
"For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape." 1 Thessalonians 5:3.
May God help us to get ready for what is about to break upon on our world in an overwhelming surprise.
"More and more, as the days go by, it is becoming apparent that God's judgments are in the world. In fire and flood and earthquake He is warning the inhabitants of this earth of His near approach. The time is nearing when the great crisis in the history of the world will have come, when every movement in the government of God will be watched with intense interest and inexpressible apprehension. In quick succession the judgments of God will follow one another—fire and flood and earthquake, with war and bloodshed." Testimonies, Vol. 9, p. 97.
