Catholic Church to profit off of People's ignorance
Editorial | AdventMessenger.com
The Catholic church is due to make millions of dollars off the ignorance its people. Take for example these new commemorative medals of St. John Paul II and St. John XXIII that are on sale at catholicshopping.com. For only $4,981.00 you can own a 14kt Gold, double sided commemorative medal of St John Paul II / St John XXIII. (While supplies last!)
If that's too expensive and if you don't have enough money, well, according to the Vatican, you are still in luck. No problem. For only $266.75 you can get the "gold-filled" version, which is not actually solid gold, it just has "some" gold.
This is just another of the many gimmicks used to prey (not pray) on the ignorant and the gullible. Jesus condemned these schemes that targeted the poor.
"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation." Matt. 23:14.
The good news is that we don't need medallions, or candles, or saints, expensive or otherwise, to come to God. We just need to be sincere, we need to come to Him in faith, and we must seek out HIS will. That's it. Praise God!
"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." Heb. 11:6.
"Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent." Acts 17:29, 30.
His grace and mercy are in abundent supply, unlike the trinkets and schemes of this world!
