Seventh-day Adventists and Catholics Unite to Provide Healthcare

Seventh-day Adventist are joining up with the Alexian Brothers, a Catholic religious order, to provide health care services. The two organizations have agreed to unite for the purpose of staying competitive in the Chicago, IL area. BeckersHospitalReview.com reports on June 17, 2014 in an article entitled “Alexian Brothers, Adventist Midwest Health to Affiliate,” that the two health care systems “share some common traits.”

It also quotes David Crane, president and CEO of Adventist Midwest Health as saying: “We’ve been thinking about this for quite some time. Our relationship with Alexian goes back a couple of years.”

The partnership is expected to be finalized by early fall and shows all the signs of unity and cooperation between the two religions.

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols?” 2 Cor. 6:14-17.

What is going on? Have we completely lost our minds? How can Seventh-day Adventists and Roman Catholics come together in a legally binding business arrangement? Has all years of ecumenical dialogue and interfaith worship finally turned into legally binding and unifying working policies? This is what multiculturalism eventually leads you to—unity with Rome.

“I was shown the necessity of those who believe that we are having the last message of mercy, being separate from those who are daily imbibing new errors.” Early Writings, p. 124.

Here’s the problem when we join in and become unequally yoked together with those have given themselves over to gross errors and fables:

“By uniting with the world and partaking of its spirit, they have come to view matters in nearly the same light; and when the test is brought, they are prepared to choose the easy, popular side.” Great Controversy, p. 608.

Surely, this is what the many years of ecumenical dialog has produce—full-blown, open cooperation and entanglements with Rome. This didn’t just happen overnight. It first began with dialog. Then we moved to interfaith worship. Now we are in bed with Rome, unifying our mission with their mission.

This exhibition will completely destroy, if it hasn’t already, the holiness and sanctity of being God’s last day Remnant people; that of proclaiming the nearness of the Lord’s second coming. This union with Rome is based solely on GREED for riches and for the love of luxury and the display of success. We are being sold out for a pot of lentils.

When is reality, God’s servants must rebuke the sins and luxuries and excesses of our time as John the Baptist did. Our mission is to spread the pure, unadulterated gospel as found in the Three Angels’ Messages of Revelation 14. And it should be clear that these kind of alliances with Rome are not in harmony with the plans and purposes that God has for us.

In order for these two opposing religions to work together there has to be a compromise. And Rome never changes. Don’t be fooled.

“God cannot use men who, in time of peril, when the strength, courage, and influence of all are needed, are afraid to take a firm stand for the right.” Prophets and Kings, p. 142.
