Dying Father Tells Infant Daughter: God Will Be Your Dad Now

Editorial | Advent Messenger

Nick Magnotti, a 27-year-old Washington man who passed away last year from a rare appendix cancer took the time to make a video for his 11-month-old daughter. In it he tells her: "Even though I'm not going to be here soon, God is going to be your Father, He is going to take care of you, He is going to protect you, He is going to watch out for you and he is going to provide for you."

"For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away" (1 Peter 1:24).

The Bible tells us that our lives are like the delicate, beautiful flowers. They are here with us one day to brighten and beautify the lives of others and then they fade away.

All the latest research indicates that many families are not spending quality time with their children. The family circle has been continually eroding as many parents don't place their children at the top of their priority lists. Even though we have busy working lives and hectic schedules, we have to set aside quality time to spend with them. They are a gift from God.

"Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward." Psalm 127:3.
