Erupting Volcano Reveals Smiley Face in Lava

The erupting Kilauea volcano in Hawaii has produced a rare phenomenon. Hot red lava formed inside the crater has created an eerie looking "smiley" face.

A helicopter flying above the crater captured the image in a video.

The BBC has posted an aerial view of the crater showing the smiley.

The video footage also shows lava reaching the ocean for first time since 2013. In addition the camera captured the images of two people dangerously close to the high cliff's edge watching the molten lava spill into the sea.
