Pope Francis Tells President Obama to Back Off

Editorial | AdventMessenger.com

When President Obama met with Pope Francis at the Vatican earlier today, Obama was light-spirited and jovial trying to make the most of his visit. Pope Francis on the other hand stressed his concerns and reservations that he has with the President and manifested a much more serious tone and demeanor. Reuters News revealed today that this what happened at the Vatican:

"The president appeared at ease and joked during the parts of his meeting with the pope that were open to a few reporters, but a brief Vatican statement issued later indicated that Obama's private talks there had a more serious side. The statement said Obama, who was accompanied by Secretary of State John Kerry, was told of the Vatican's concern about "the exercise of the rights to religious freedom, life and conscientious objection" in the United States. This was a reference to the mandate in Obama's controversial health care plan which requires employers to cover the cost of contraception in insurance plans." Reuters News, March 27, 2014.

In other words the Pope basically told Obama, "Don't dictate to the church what we must do through your health care initiatives. It is our job to tell you what you must do for us." This is the principle by which Rome has operated for 2,000 years. Rome's official doctrine teaches that it is the church that dictates and controls the state, and not the other way around.

The attitude of the Roman Catholic leadership is described in the writings of St. Thomas Aquinas, the great Catholic theologian and philosopher who helped shape the doctrine on the supremacy of the church over the affairs of the state.

Thomas Aquinas wrote: "Secular power is subject to the spiritual power as the body is subject to the soul. In the pope the secular power is joined to the spiritual." The Political Ideas of St. Thomas Aquinas, New York: Hafner Publishing company, 1953, xxiv.

Obama got a crash course today as to what his role is in his relationship to Rome. Prophecy describes this cozy church/state alliance in Revelation 13:12. This verse reveals that the state will eventually succumb to the pressure of the church and enforce her wishes and her dogmas.

"And he exercised all the power of the first beast before him." Rev. 13:12. This means that United States will perform the same "authority" or "power" of the first beast - Rome! We are seeing these two power coming together into a close relationship. As prophecy is being fulfilled, we are to look up for our salvation draweth nigh.

"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." Luke 21:28.
