We can learn a lot from the Animals

We can learn a lot from the Animals

Editorial | Advent Messenger

"Animals obeyed the command of God, while men were disobedient. Guided by holy angels, they went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, and the clean beasts by sevens" Patriarchs and Prophets, 98.

At Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary in Grove, GA you will find an American brown bear, an African Lion, and an Asian tiger living together as best friends. They could live separated, but they prefer to spend their time close to one another. Their friendship can teach us a lesson on peace and unity. These animals are natural enemies in the wild and would normally kill each other; but instead they play, snuggle, and show love and affection toward each other. Amazing!

They come from different countries, they are of different species, and they are not even the same color (race) yet they love each other. They are brothers and they know how to love. They obey a commandment that God has given to humans.

"A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another" (John 13:34).

"We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him" (1 John 3: 14, 15).

Are we witnessing another miracle, a modern day miracle, as the antediluvians saw? These savage beasts are obeying the commandments of God. Yet rational, human beings made in the image of God can't even learn how to get along. What a rebuke to our generation. The animals in the days of Noah were definitely smarter than the people of that generation. They got into the ark. They obeyed the leading of God's spirit. The rest of the world didn't, and they were lost. So many believe the story of Noah's ark was legend. Here's just another proof it was not. May God help us to be obedient to His voice and may we learn to live in peace, love, and in obedience to Him.
